          If you want to locate local BBSs, your best bet is to ask
          at your neighborhood computer store. Say, "What are some
          of the best local boards in the area?" Another source for
          BBS phone numbers is the Computer Shopper Magazine. Each
          issue of the Computer Shopper Magazine has a huge list of
          phone numbers (and other relevant information) for BBSs
          around the country.  The list of BBSs is current and the
          list is so big that they publish half the alphabet one
          month and the next half the next month. Boardwatch
          Magazine has plenty of good BBS numbers. Once you get
          online to one BBS, they usually list others in the area. 
          
          Many BBSs specialize in certain kinds of information and
          files. Some are known as a "chat board" where people talk
          (type) to one another in real time. Other boards
          specialize in graphics, Windows files, etc.; and almost
          any other topic.

          Exec PC is the largest BBS in the world with 280 phone
          lines and 650,000 files. It has the best and fastest
          search capabilities that I have seen. The fantastic
          search capabilities make Exec PC a joy for file hunters.

          Studio PC has over 60,000 files and is approved by The
          Association of Shareware Professionals. Ralph LoBianco is
          the system administrator. He goes out of his way to help
          new modem users.
          
          There are a number of toll-free BBSs around the country.
          For example, you can log onto the FREE Small Business
          Administration (SBA) BBS by having your modem dial:

          The SBA BBS has some downloadable files. They have
          general files as well as files relating to small
          businesses.
