This readme file accompanies Version 1.0 of CLEANUP.VBX, a Visual Basic
custom control which automatically minimizes the visible windows of all
non-vb applications which are running.

This file contains the most up-to-date information about the control.

HOW TO USE CLEANUP.VBX

CLEANUP.VBX is an easy-to-use "utility" VBX for VB programmers.  
Cleanup inserts an additional menu item into Visual Basic's 
menu bar.  The new item, which appears after the Help menu item, 
is entitled Cleanup!  The "bang" or exclamation mark after the word 
"Cleanup" serves to indicate that there is no sub-menu below this 
item; that selecting the Cleanup! menu item results in immediate action.
 

WHAT DOES Cleanup! DO?

Simple!  If you use Visual Basic regularly, you know that VB's windows 
sort of float on the Windows desktop; i.e., windows belonging to programs 
which were running when Visual Basic was started are still visible.  
By selecting the Cleanup! menu item, you automatically minimize
all NON-VB windows, leaving your desktop clean and clutter-free. 
That's all there is to it.


YOU DON'T DISTRIBUTE CLEANUP.VBX 
WITH YOUR FINISHED APPLICATION

Since Cleanup! is a programmer's tool, there's no need to distribute
the CLEANUP.VBX with your finished application (in fact, distributing the 
registered version is prohibited by your license).  When your project
is finished and ready for distribution, simply remove the CLEANUP.VBX
module from your project by selecting it in the VB project window, then
choose the "Remove File" item from VB's "File" menu.






LICENSE

Please read the license document which comes with the package.  Although
this product is distributed as shareware, it is not free.  You may
evaluate the product, and if you wish to use the Cleanup! control
in your VB application, you must register it.  

The shareware distribution is identical in all respects to 
the commercial version which you will receive when you register. The
commercial version does not display the registration dialog at startup.

In shops using this control for product development, each developer must
register the control for use on his or her machine.


REGISTRATION

The help file contains all the registration details, and there is also 
an order form (ORDER.TXT) which can be fax'ed in to register the control.
You will receive a diskette via UPS.  Orders are generally shipped within
24 hours.  Federal Express shipment is available for a $25. expedited 
service fee.

Compuserve Members may register this software package in the Software 
Registration forum (GO SWREG).  The registration and license fee will 
be added to your CompuServe bill.  The registration number for 
the Cleanup! VBX is 4051.
