Signs Distribution Agreement with Macmillan Publishing A New Customizable Internet Viewer/Browser To Be Distributed To The Retail Channel Bundled With Macmillan's New Release of "Riding The Internet Highway" and Electronic Internet Yellow Pages Wilmington, Mass., Oct. 25, 1994 - BookLink Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of CMG Information Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMGI) and a developer of end user navigational tools for the Internet, has entered an agreement with Macmillan Publishing Software Group in which Macmillan will exclusively distribute CMG's InternetWorks viewer/browser product for the North American retail market. InternetWorks is available in two versions -- InternetWorks and InternetWorks Lite. Macmillan Publishing Software Group is a division of Macmillan Publishing, one of the largest distributors of Internet reference products. The group will distribute shrink-wrapped versions of InternetWorks through major retailers, such as Egghead, CompUSA and Wal- Mart. In addition, BookLink Technologies has underwritten a special version of the best-selling book, Riding the Internet Highway, Deluxe Edition to bundle with InternetWorks products. This special bundle will also feature an electronic version of New Rider's Internet Yellow Pages. The book from New Riders Publishing, Riding the Internet Highway, InternetWorks Edition, will feature specific information on InternetWorks as well as broad-ranging Internet coverage. Macmillan Publishing will also explore shrink-wrapping the Lite version of InternetWorks with selected books in the future. "We are delighted to be complementing our Internet navigational tools with Macmillan Publishing Software Group's expertise in bringing products into the retail channel," said David Wetherell, president of BookLink Technologies. "The on-line services market is expanding rapidly, as corporations and users identify opportunities to use the Internet for commerce and communications. We're looking forward to working with one of the leading distributors of Internet reference products to ensure that InternetWorks is widely available." InternetWorks is a complete, Windows-based viewer/browser for the Internet. InternetWorks has been designed for both casual and power users. For casual users, InternetWorks provides a single, easy-to-use interface to all common Internet services and protocols. For power users, including corporations and VARs, InternetWorks provides complete programmability and inter-application integration. InternetWorks includes many features unavailable with other Internet viewer/browser products, such as complete multithreading, full OLE2 support, a single interface for all services, true Windows orientation, and the ability to customize Internet access. InternetWorks Lite includes the same navigational abilities as the full version; however, it offers limited multi-threading and does not offer full OLE2 support, Email (except for "mail to"), or the electronic version of New Rider's Internet Yellow Pages. Both versions of InternetWorks include everything needed to begin using the Internet, including TCP/IP, Winsock and SLIP/PPP communications software; full support for all major Internet services and protocols, such as Email, Network News, HTTP, Gopher, FTP and WAIS; support for standard image and sound formats; 800# installation support; and a special start-up offer from Internet Express, a national Internet access provider, with a one month money-back guarantee. InternetWorks runs under Windows 3.0, 3.1, Windows for Workgroups 3.11, Windows NT, and will support Windows95. "Macmillan Publishing holds a strong reputation and presence in the computer retail channel and among resellers, making our distribution system one of the most effective available," said Doug Bennett, vice president of distributor and software sales at Macmillan Publishing. "We are excited about our partnership with BookLink Technologies and the quality of their InternetWorks product. Our distribution channels will give them access to a marketplace searching for Internet products. We are looking forward to the success this product will have in the market."
