MyTrash (c) MyTrash, Vers. 1.0, is " yet another file deletion program" (Freeware) with features that I found lacking in other programs with similar functionality. MyTrash has the ability to: (1) Delete the files once they have been dropped into the trash basket. Icon will have a RED background when in this mode. (RED for danger). Trashcan will always appear with an "empty" trashcan icon. (2) Move the files over to a directory, selected by user, and delete the files next time MyTrash is started. This provides some measure of protection over accidental file deletion. Icon will have a YELLOW background when in this mode (YELLOW for warning). Full trashcan icon when MyTrash directory contains files to be deleted. (3) Move the files over to a directory, selected by user, and delete the files only when explicitely requested via a menu option. Icon will have a GREEN background when in this mode (GREEN for "safe"). Full trashcan icon when MyTrash directory contains files to be deleted. The user will be warned if an attempt is made to delete a file that already exists in the MyTrash directory when in modes YELLOW or GREEN above. This warning may be de-selected if so desired via the MyTrash configuration function. In addition, the user may associate a .WAV file of his/her choice when items are dropped into the trashcan icon. Installing MyTrash: (1) Copy mytrash.exe into any directory, e.g. windows (2) Copy BC40RTL.DLL to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory (3) Copy BWCC.DLL to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory (4) Open Windows File Manager and drag and drop the mytrash.exe from the directory into which it was copied to the StartUp group in Program Manager, or edit WIN.INI file so that mytrash.exe, full path, is inserted in the WIN.INI run= parameter in the [windows] section; e.g. run=c:\windows\mytrash.exe At this point you can either re-start windows to invoke MyTrash or double-click the MyTrash icon in the StartUp Program Manager group. (5) Configure MyTrash by double-clicking the MyTrash icon. A sample .WAV is included in the MyTrash packing list. (6) A Help facility is included. Notes: (1) MyTrash, when in modes YELLOW or GREEN, requires a directory. MyTrash will create the directory in the designated location if the directory does not exist. (2) MyTrash automatically creates a mytrash.ini file in the windows directory. The .INI file is used to contain MyTrash configuration information. This is a freeware product. Enjoy!!!
