What's New in Stickies! 3.0 * Multiple note sets! Instead of a single "active set," you can now have 10 named note sets that you can quickly switch between. * Styles! You can create named styles that contain all the color, font, alarm, etc., settings for a note, and then apply those styles to notes, or even have Stickies! prompt you with a list of styles whenever you create a new, blank note. * Configurable sound effects! See the "For registered users" section for details. * Programming function keys! You can assign nearly all Stickies! internal functions to the function keys F1 through F12. * Locked program option! You can password protect Stickies!, which prevents casual access to your notes (those in your note sets as well as those in your file cabinet). * Autoload notes! You can create a standard Stickies! export file with a single note, and have Stickies! load that note when you create a new blank note. This provides a simple yet effective "forms" feature. * Greater configurability! Many users have sent us suggestions, and we incorporated several of them into the global options dialog, giving you more even control over how Stickies! works. The new options are: - Refiling confirmation. You can now turn off the refiling notice that Stickies! displays to tell you where a note has been filed after you use the Ctrl-Z shortcut key. - Inheriting parent note's font and color. When you create a new note by double clicking on its caption bar, Stickies! will optionally use that note's color and font for the new note. - Prompting for new note's style. You can tell Stickies! to prompt you with the list of your defined note styles when you create a new, blank note. - File cabinet double click setting. Before version 3.0, Stickies! would treat a double-click on a note's title in the file cabinet as a "copy" command; now you can tell Stickies! to checkout the note instead. - Link button re-ordering. There are new buttons on the link config. dialog that you can use to change a link's position on its note. * Improved Usability! Is there such a thing as a program that doesn't need usability enhancements? We don't think so. Here's the latest set of improvements to Stickies! in this area: - Quick close file cabinet dialogs. If you hold down the shift key when you click on the Copy, Checkout, or Close buttons on the folder browser dialog, Stickies! will perform the requested action and then close both file cabinet dialogs. - Refile option when deleting a note. When you delete a non-blank note, Stickies! will give you the option of refiling it in the file cabinet, if possible. - Refile option for expired notes. Similar to the above option, Stickies! will give you the option of refiling an exported note, when possible. - Minimize all Notes and Restore all Notes menu options. There are new options on the main program's Arrange Notes menu to minimize or restore all the notes in your active set. - UNC-style filename compatibility. Stickies! will now accept UNC-style filenames (e.g. \\fred\temp\file.doc as opposed to c:\temp\file.doc). * Surface notes hotkey! You can use a new global hotkey, Ctrl-Shift-S, to "surface" all your notes anytime Stickies! is running. This is a handy way to quickly check your notes when you're working in another, full-screen Windows program. * Export all notes as text option. Several customers have asked us for a way to combine all the text from their active notes into a single, plain ASCII file. Here it is. For registered users: * Configurable sound! You can turn each Stickies! sound on or off, and assign built-in sounds or your own WAV files to each event. * More history! Once again, the today-in-history database has been expanded. Please note that Stickies! now requires Microsoft Windows 3.1.
