In the upper left corner is a menu of all the documentation files given with WinStart. At startup, the first file on the menu is automatically opened - which so happens to be this file. The window in the upper right corner gives a brief description of WinStart. The rest of the screen is given to a window containing one of the documentation files for your reading. There are three ways to open a file for reading: 1) Use your mouse and click on the name of the file you want. 2) With the keyboard, press [CTRL]-[F6] until the menu is selected (signified by the double line around it) and use the arrow keys to move up or down. 3) Press [ALT] and the highlighted letter of the name of the file you want. When reading a file, the standard cursor keys - such as the arrow keys, [PgUp], [PgDn], etc. - move you around. You can also click anywhere in the file window with the right mouse button or press [CTRL]-[W] to see a menu specifically for file windows. This menu gives you the following functions: Function Description -------- --------------------------- Next window Moves to the next window on screen Previous window Moves to the previous window on screen Maximize Makes the current window take up the entire screen Move/resize Allows you to move or change the size of the current window Close Closes the current window Print Prints the contents of the current window RunMe is set up to use LPT1 and a page length of 59 lines. Some printers are capable of printing 66 lines, so if your printer is one of those, you may want to change the page length. The printer port and the page length are set by pressing [CTRL]-[R].
