GDHOOK: Common Dialog Extension Utility 3/10/1995, Version 0.1 by Mark Gamber For Windows NT 3.5 GDHOOK is a utility designed to make life just a touch easier under Windows by adding an extension to the "File Open" and "Save As" common dialog boxes. To use this program, copy GDHOOK.EXE and GDHDLL.DLL to the same directory, perferably the system directory such as "\WINNT\SYSTEM32". Start GDHOOK.EXE as you would any other Windows program and it's icon should appear on the desktop. Once running, try this simple exercise to see if the utility is working and what the utility does. Start Notepad and select "Open" from the "File" menu. Select a listed text file by clicking *once* on the file and you should see the file's byte size and last access time and date along the bottom of the dialog box. Likewise, selecting "Save As" in the "File" menu should produce the same results. This works for any application which uses the standard common dialog boxes *but* may not work for those which have been altered by an application and definately will not work with "lookalike" dialog boxes which, although they appear to be common dialog boxes, really aren't. Double-Click the program's icon or otherwise attempt to restore it's window to view the "About" dialog box and select the system menu "Close" item to close the application. *** Legal Crap *************************************************************** By using this program, the user assumes full responsibility for it's proper use and may not hold the author liable for any loss or damage.
