It uses Class 2 Fax commands which work well if you are setting your BBS to accept FAX or Data calls. This is the initialization string I have stored in my ZDX for use with the ATZ command: AT S0=0 S2=1 M0 H0 E0 X4 S30=5 To load this string into your modem, type the above command line when in a terminal program such as Telix and add &W0 to the end. &W0 stores the initialization string in the modem's memory so that by typing the ATZ command, the modem is set to the stored settings. AT S0=0 S2=1 M0 H0 E0 X4 S30=5 &W0 (ENTER) You should see OK after you hit enter. Note: S30=5 Sets an automatic hang-up command if the modem is idle for the period specified in minutes. This is set for 5 Minutes. Now when Spitfire issues the Pre-Initilization string of ATZ, your modem at that point is ready to go. This allows for the the additional FAX cammands to be entered in the initialization string entry in ALT-M modem setup in Spitfire. If you are not using FAX, you can simply add ATZ^M as your initialization string or add additional commands. FAX commands cannot be stored in your modems memory by using th &W0 command. FAX settings in Spitfire's ALT-M modem setup screen can be entered exactly as shown in the SF 3.5 manual except for the Answer String. AT+FAA=1A needs a semi-colon added between the 1 and the A. It should be entered as AT+FAA=1;A. If I can be of any further assistance in setting up your ZDX modem I would be happy to help. Leave a message on SFNET to Dan Hines.
