----------------------------------------------------------------------- OLMS 2.5 information sheet May, 1995 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- OLMS 2.5 is due out before the end of May, and with it comes some exciting new features, a few fixes, as well as complete support for the muchly awaited RemoteAccess 2.5! In additional, another line of OLMS is to be released around the same date, this line is known as the "Professional" series. This new line supports BBS systems with larger numbers of message areas, upto 10,000 areas currently. It also has an efficient quad-index system that makes the mail door incredibly fast on systems with around 500 or more message areas. As well as having all of the same features found in OLMS /Shareware, it includes the ability to have 'vacation' mail, autopack file attaches in your downloads, and has a dynamic record adjustment to get the most for your disk space as compared to your system's setup. Standard features include keywording and filtering, not only in the headers, but including the text body. It also allows you to specify users you wish to never read from -- commonly known as 'twit listings' OLMS supports both the popular formats QWK and Bluewave, as well as the newly developed QWKE extensions. OLMS creates on-the-fly file listings, and support for selective bulletins. Sysop control is at a maximum, with the ability to individually select how message areas behave in the door, in addition to their regular behaviour on the BBS. Of course OLMS is easy to setup and maintain, since it directly reads your RemoteAccess configuration files. Visually, OLMS is quite pleasing. With the ability to extensively modify your interface using both custom screens and a multilanguage setup, you can modify OLMS to fit your system. Of course OLMS also supports RIP graphics, and comes RIP-ready right 'out of the box' with some very nice looking, mouse driven menus. A list of the minor changes is too large to mention here, but some of the nice changes include hotkey prompts, where you do not have to wait for the screen to redraw before it executes your key. Also in regards to JAM bases, passworded messages are honoured, and better support for NetExpress (RAUUCP) exporting messages inserted by OLMS. Also added was a user indexing system for faster entrance to the door. Miscellanious changes to the Blue Wave support, including colors in the file listing. Support for Wildcat's NETFLAGS.DAT was also added, and the number of keywords, filters and twits was increased to 45 for each. Pricing for the packages are as follows: OLMS 2.5/sw (Shareware version) - Supports upto 10 nodes, and 2,000 message areas. - Price tag of $20.00 US OLMS 2.5/pro (Professional version) - Currently supports 10,000 areas. - Includes all the features of the shareware version. - Includes internal vacation mail support. - Includes a quad-indexing system. - Includes extended user editor. - Includes dynamic record sizing ability. - Support for upto 3 nodes, the price is $30.00 US - Support for upto 10 nodes, the price is $40.00 US - Support for unlimited nodes, the price is $70.00 US - Multi-site licences are also available.
