*MIGNET* 9-18-94 Howdy Gaming Sysops, A couple of us started this network to play Inter-BBS games and have a message base or two. It wasn't going to be anything fancy, mainly to see if it could be done by us. Well after we had it running a few other wanted to get in. I also decided it would be a great way for all types of BBS software to hook up together, play BRE and ISA, without the hassle of putting in a FidoNet nodelist (2.5 meg of it). This also gave us the ablity to crash messages and files to each other. Sounds good right? So now we have 20 to 25 BBS's on the list, two BRE games running out out of it. 5 message conferences, 1 hooked to the RIME Chicago For Sale echo. 1 ISA game running between two BBS's, and a few Sunrise Doors Games running Inter-BBS style. And a D-wars game being setup as we speak. I am sure there will be more to come. I don't know of any Network like this. Sounds good right? OK, now this is what you do, unzip the zip package named REQUEST.MIG. Inside it is a program called MAKEREQ.EXE, run it! Supply the requested information and it'll create your application to our little network. Send it to the Hub of your choice listed in the MigNet nodelist. (hint: There is always new news and things of interest inside the nodelist, List it and read it) That hub will take care of it from there. Included in this ZIP is a MigNet nodelist, a MigNet application program, and this file you are reading. When we make changes they will show up in print in the nodelist (remember the hint?). That way we only have to send you 1 file with ALL changes on it. The requirements and little and few. First you MUST be able to make your message transfers using a Front End Mailer. Second, you MUST make your message transfers from your Hub.(Hint: if you don't you may find yourself off the nodelist, this is a fair bet) Third and not least, You MUST be able to stay cool. I have learned a great deal of things from this Net. One is that it is VERY easy for things to get blown out of proportion. Lets watch how we type at people and things don't get misunderstood. Sounds good right? Ok thats it, fill out the app, and we will try to service you as fast possible . Signed...... The MigNet Crew UPDATE * 8-7-94 * Now a file backbone is being offered by The MigNet Crew. We have hooked up to FidoNet and DoorNet to drag in the newest online door games for BBS's.
