SCARVES Basic Knitting Worsted Weight Scarf: 12 oz. knitting worsted weight yarn, #8 needles. Gauge - 5 sts = 1" CO 35 sts. Work in garter st (K every row) for 60". BO. Block to measure 7"x60". Work a fringe in every other st along short ends of scarf as follows: Cut 4 8" strands of yarn. Fold double to form look at one end. Pull through from wrong side and draw loop through to knot. Fluffy Lightweight Shaker Stitch Scarf: 8 oz. (more if longer scarf is desired) brushed sport weight yarn. #8 needles. CO 25 sts or amount for width desired, making certain it is an uneven number. Work 1 row K1 P1. Next and each following row: Sl 1st st, P1, insert needle into K st below and K, P1. Repeat to end of row. Work to length desired. Make two large pompons; gather each end of scarf and attach pompons to ends. This st will make a thick and fluffy scarf that looks the same on both sides. Enjoy.
