Included are brochures, reprints from FDA Consumer magazine, backgrounders, posters, slide shows, videotapes, films, and exhibits. FDA Consumer reprints are 8-1/2 x 11 inches and two to eight pages in length. Brochures are usually 4 x 9 inches and four to ten pages in length. Backgrounders are usually one or two-page fact sheets on topics of current interest. Posters are generally 17 x 22 inches. Films are standard 16mm color sound. Slide shows consist of from 80 to 120 two-by-two inch color slides with a printed script and a narrative on audio cassette. The cassette has cues to allow slides to be advanced manually. Most slide shows are also available on videotape, either VHS (1/2-inch) or 3/4-inch. Video news releases (VNRs) are available in either VHS or 3/4-inch formats. VNRs cover FDA current issues, are produced for television news, and run approximately 6 to 8 minutes including B-roll and extra sound-bites. Exhibits are either table top size, accomodating three panels, or freestanding (8' high x 10' wide) for use on a portable "nomadic" pop-up, frame. Exhibits are not intended for loan to individuals or organizations outside FDA.
