FRIENDS & FAMILY, Version 1.00 is a Visual Basic Application that tracks all your family members and friends - their address, phone numbers, recurring events such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc. If you are downloading this program from CompuServe, you should note that this application requires the file VBRUN300.DLL. You probably have this file in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. If not, you can download it from CompuServe. QUICK START This is how I suggest your proceed. Create a directory called FANDF in your root directory. Copy all the files that are unzipped into that directory. From the windows file manager, double click on the file FANDF.EXE. If everything works, you're home free. You can move all files with a VBX or DLL extention to your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. If you do this, make sure that you do not copy over an existing file with a more recent date. The following files are included with this application : Program Files - These belong in your FANDF directory or whatever other directory you decide to use. FANDF.EXE - The executable program file. FANDF.HLP - The help file. NAME.DAT - Your name and address data file. EVNT.DAT - Your event data file. PHON.DAT - Your phone # data file. Wave Files - These files are included for sound effects. They They belong in your FANDF directory or whatever other directory you decide to use. BARK2.WAV - Dog barking sound. Optional BASS.WAV - Bass sound. Optional BUMMER.WAV - Bummer voice. Optional CLICK.WAV - Clicking sound. Needed by program in program directory. CUCKOO.WAV - Cuckoo sound. Needed by program in program directory. DOOO.WAV - Dooo sound. Optional FLUMP.WAV - Flumping sound. Optional IQUIT.WAV - I quit voice. Optional Library Files The following library files are also included. You can leave these files in the same directory as the above files or copy them to your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. If you do copy them to the system directory, make sure you do not copy over a file name with a more current date stamp. Position yourself in the group you want to add the program to. 2. In the program manager, select FILE, select NEW, select PROGRAM ITEM. For the command line, type C:\FANDF\FANDF.EXE.
