                      IS THIS AN UNTAMPERED FILE?

This ASCII-file version of ShareDebate International
was packaged by Applied Foresight, Inc. (AFI
hereafter). Every AFI-packaged ASCII version of
ShareDebate International is distributed in either an
"-AV protected" ZIP file format or a SDN (Shareware
        Distributors Network) protected SDN file.

"AV" is the authenticity verification feature provided
to registered PKZIP users, which Applied Foresight,
Inc., is. If you are using the MS-DOS PKUNZIP.EXE
program written by PKWARE Inc. and do not see the "-AV"
message after every file is unzipped AND receive the
message "Authentic files Verified! #JAA646 Applied
Foresight Inc." when you unzip this file then do not
trust it's integrity. If your version of PKUNZIP is not
the PKWARE-authored program (for instance, you are
running a non-MS-DOS version), then this message may
not be displayed. (Note: version 2.04g of PKZIP was
used to create this authentication message.)

SDN is the major distributor of Shareware and
Copyrighted Freeware and users who extract files from
an SDN file with the current version of the archive
        utility ARJ, should see:

               *** Valid ARJ-SECURITY envelope signature:
               *** SDN International(sm) SDN#01 R#2417

This file is an SDN International(sm) Author-Direct
Distribution. It should be verified for the SDN
Security Seal by the FileTest utility available at The
          SDN Project AuthorLine BBS 203-634-0370.

(Note: prior to about May, 1993, SDN used PAK to
archive its distributions and its authenticity message
        differs from the above.)

Trust only genuine AFI-packaged archives ... anything
else may be just that: ANYTHING ELSE.

                        From the Editor's Desk:

             Hello again!

In a major break from the past, this issue and the
prior two issues of ShareDebate International are devoted
to the two best board games I've been introduced to:
Chinese and Korean Chess. Two issues ago, the Winter
1994/1995 issue, introduced two versions of Chinese Chess
with illustrated documentation. The prior issue
introduces Korean Chess, which can use the same board
and pieces as Chinese Chess (a "real" Korean Chess
        board does look a tiny but insignificant bit different;
see the documentation for the differences--nevertheless
the game can be played with either country's set
without confusing anyone who knows the game).

The prior two issues focused on software versions
of the game. This issue provides you with a software
set of tools/images to enable you to make your own
        Asian-Style or Western-Style Chinese/Korean Chess game.
In fact, you can make as many of the game sets (boards
and pieces as you want). Create your own chess club!
All you need is a computer printer, Scotch Tape, some
Avery Mailing Labels (the pieces are printed on them),
and a box of red/white/blue poker chips (a box costs
$1.00 at a dollar store--a couple of dollars at your
higher priced department stores)--which are enough to
make two complete game sets. You'll stick the printed
images (on the mailing labels) onto the poker chips.
You'll print the board on four sheets of paper and cut
and tape them together to make one "board." You can
make the board permanent with clear plastic glass.

Korean and Chinese Chess are the best games there
are! I got bored 20 years ago with Western Chess --
Korean and Chinese Chess with their Cannons & rules
limiting the King to a 3x3 grid (the fortress) on a
larger board (90 locations) make them quicker, more
unpredictable, more challenging, and more fun.

In case some of the readers are anti-game though,
        I'm including several "traditional" ShareDebate
International normal type entries which are great reading
in and of themselves -- they are selected reprints from
The CEI (Competitive Enterprise Institute) and from
        Libernet.

I am also including my Netscape Bookmark File to let
others see what's out there on the World Wide Web that
interests someone with my varied interests. Use any
Web browser program, such as Netscape or Mosaic to read
        these files (listed below).

Last, I've been working to get ShareDebate
International it's own Web home page (and associated HTML
pages). The HTML coding is all done--I am scouting
around for the best price and hope to have secured a Web
place by year end 1995. In the meantime, I am including
the actual Web pages I intend to use that will point to
the ZIPped, complete back issues -- these Web pages also
include issue by issue abstracts of both ShareDebate
International and Imprimis Online. Check them out by
using your browser to open the file, SI_HOME.HTM -- it
all starts from there! I've also made it possible for you
to use Netscape or any Web browser to read any of the text
files in this and future issues of ShareDebate International
or Imprimis Online. You'll see this as the first and last
line of each file therefore if you use a plain file reader:
                #
                #
Those are HTML codes to treat the file as a pre-formatted file. Have fun! ### +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ MAGAZINE CONTENTS Because this issue is quite long, the individual entries are not all collapsed into this file. That way readers on non-MSDOS computers who don't have an ASCII file reader that can read in massively large files can read this issue -- all files are tried to be kept under 50KB apiece. Also all readers can quickly "jump" to the pieces that most interest them. This makes printing out what interests a person most convenient and avoids wasting paper and time. I hope you like this arrangement. If you do not have a MS-DOS computer, then only the "TXT" type files might be of interest to you. The other three types of files are "S/W" (Software), "GPH" (Graphic Image file), and "HTM" for a HTML-coded file that is best viewed by a Web Browser, such as Netscape or Mosaic.
