When placed in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file, Boot-Up Proverbs selects a random Proverb (from over 500) from the King James version of the Bible and displays it after each boot-up. Boot-Up Proverbs can also be run from the command line. In the example, prov is the directory that contains the Boot-Up Proverbs files. cd \prov proverbs cd \ That's all there is to it. If you need to pause the screen after the proverb is displayed, your AUTOEXEC.BAT file should look like the following example. Again, prov is the directory that contains the Boot-Up Proverbs files. cd \prov proverbs pause cd \ * * Running Boot-Up Proverbs from the command line: * Make sure PROVERBS.EXE and PROVERBS.DAT are in the current directory or can be found in the PATH and type 'proverbs'. * * Configuring Boot-Up Proverbs: * Type 'provcfg' from the command line to run the configuration program. Use the up and down arrows to change field, and the right and left arrows to change selection. The text color and background color of the proverb display can be selected, and you can also choose whether or not to clear the screen before displaying the proverb.
