HINTS & TIPS --------------------------------------------------------- Although it can be very satisfying to complete a game under your own steam, sometimes it helps if you get a few pointers in the right direction! For this reason the programmers of Theme Park and Magic Carpet have put together some hot tips to help you progress through the trickier elements. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- THEME PARK DESIGNER SERIES * Catch your customers early by placing shops at the entrance to your theme park. * Place your bigger rides and attractions towards the back of the park. This will ensure the customers spend money on shops and stalls on their way through. * Place entertainers near long queues to keep the little people amused. Also, put one entertainer near the entrance to hand out umbrellas if it rains. * Be sure to research your bus. Remember, the bigger the bus the more customers it will bring to your park! * Always have stock for your shops on order. This way you can't lose sales and money if you're out of stock. You can always delay its arrival by re-ordering. * Hire a mechanic as soon as your first ride shows signs of breaking down. A single mechanic can generally take care of three to four rides successfully. * Remeber your park is rated on its attractiveness. Hire handymen to clear up litter and make your park look more appealing by using trees, fences and lakes. * Read the Alex Trowers guide to Theme Park. * For more information, hints, tips and advice, an in-depth guide to the game has now been published by Future Publishing priced at £9.99 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAGIC CARPET * When attacking castles, use the left and right arrow keys to fly sideways whilst shooting. This prevents the archers from attacking you with any accuracy. * For extremely quick turning use the right arrow key and backwards arrow in conjunction. This helps you to take evasive action in the heat of the battle. * If you have someone on your tail, don't turn around and face him directly. Instead, reverse as quickly as possible so you are behind him. If you have the "Accelerate Backwards" spell, all the better. * If you find yourself short of mana, fly around the level possessing all the buildings as they tend to be ignored by other wizards. * If you are attacked by creatures hiding in the forest, shoot at the trees to start a forest fire. This should finish everything off without firing another shot! Especially good against Archers and Skeleton Armies. * If your castle is under attack by a relentless stream of creatures, press shift-L to destroy your castle. Whilst this may seem suicidal, it leaves you free to create another castle directly underneath the creatures to destroy them. * If you find a spell or mana in a crater that is too steep, fly in a downward spiral around the walls of the crater. You should reach the bottom with ease. * To get to the bottom of a very deep pit just come to a stop over it and then you will slowly sink downwards. Use the arrow keys to position yourself; if you are too heavy with the forward and backward keys you will hit the wall and shoot out of the pit. * For more hints, tips, advice and loads of other information, go to the Magic Carpet page.
