Welcome to Lifesaver. Detailed help is available within the program but this text file will get you started. What is LifeSaver? LIFESAVER v4.3. Helps prevent common computer injuries such as RSI and CTS by scheduling regular breaks and providing a series of tension-relieving exercises. Follows OH&S committee recommendations. Improves productivity - will run on a network. Requires Windows 3.1 and VBRUN300.DLL. Note that this version fixes the 'file not found' bug encountered on older copies on some systems. How do I install it? 1. Copy the files to the directory you want to install LifeSaver to. (i.e. make a directory called C:\LIFESAVE and copy all the files into it) 2. Copy MSAFINX.DLL to your Windows system directory. (usually C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM). 3. Make sure you have VBRUN300.DLL in your Windows directory. 4. For networks, LifeSaver must have write access to its home directory. How do I run it? Set up an icon in Program Manager to run LIFESAVE.EXE. You might want to add it to your startup group. What's this VBRUN300.DLL? This file is needed by LifeSaver and many other programs, and is available from most ftp sites and BBSs. Just copy it into your Windows directory. What's this MSAFINX.DLL? This file is needed for Lifesaver's timing function - its absence causes the 'file not found' error when loading Lifesaver. HELP! For more help, email gmorfey@adam.com.au or ask your sysadmin. What's new? V4.3 fixes a bug involving the option to wait for a new hour before starting breaks. It also allows the user to edit the exercises, and provides a new set of built-in exercises for the prevention and treatment of Repetitive Strain Injury. V4.2 adds the option to skip the title screen and automatically minimise when run.
