Just run SETUP from the floppy drive or, if you got these files from a BBS or other online service, the directory containing the unzipped files. Specify where you want TabNotes to reside on your hard disk and all necessary files will be created automatically. The SETUP program will also create a Windows group called TabNotes. If you are using a Windows shell other Program Manager or Explorer, the TabNotes group may not get created. This will not in any way affect your ability to use TabNotes. Most popular shells, such as Dashboard, PC Tools Desktop and Norton Desktop, should work just fine. 2. Installation notes for previous users ---------------------------------------- You may install TabNotes over an existing version. Existing folder and preference information will be completely unaffected. TabNotes does not ship with an INI file. TABNOTES.INI is created the first time you run TabNotes ONLY if one does not already exist in the directory from which TabNotes is launched. 3. Important notice to users of online services ----------------------------------------------- If you obtained this program from a bulletin board or other online service, or from someone you know, you should run a virus checker. Viruses can be transmitted by any kind of file on nearly any kind of medium. For example, infection can occur the moment you run a contaminated .EXE, .COM or .DLL file. It is good policy to run a virus checker on any file retrieved over a modem before executing it. It is also wise to check a diskette passed on from someone else.
