About WinCharging Thank you trying WinCharging. It's the newest and best way to manage your credit cards. As you may know, WinCharging can do a lot more than simply monitor credit card expenditures. If you use credit cards to earn car rebates or money back, WinCharging can help you earn even more. When you've reached the maximum rebate on one card, WinCharging warns you so you can switch to another income-producing card. That way your credit cards are always working for you. Another reason to use WinCharging is that while your credit cards are safe, you can never be sure about your account numbers. With mail theft on the rise (especially of account numbers), it is imperative to know exactly what you're paying for. WinCharging helps you keep track of each and every one of your charges. WinCharging can tell you when you've reached your cards' credit limits. It can generate all sorts of analytical reports about your spending habits and even print out tax summaries for you. WinCharging holds a Four-Star rating from Ziff-Davis, the parent company of PC Magazine. It was also named runner-up in the 1995 Shareware Awards contest. One Ziff-Davis reviewer reported that "WinCharging is a sophisticated credit card management system", and that it's "a strong tool for detail-oriented people." ========================================================= Shareware Version This is the "try before you buy" Version of WinCharging. It is a full-featured, fully functional program that you can test on your computer for sixty days. After that period, you will not be able to create new records. You can, of course, continue to access your existing records after the evaluation period. ========================================================= INSTALLATION WinCharging requires Windows 3.1 or 3.11, 4 MB RAM, and 2.2 MB of hard disk space. To ensure a perfect installation, make sure all of the files listed in CONTENTS.TXT appear on your shareware distribution floppy disk. If any are missing, contact your shareware distributor immediately. If you downloaded WinCharging's ZIP file and expanded it on your hard disk, make sure all of the files are present. You can then copy them to a floppy disk to create an installation disk or simply install WinCharging from that directory (which is considerably faster). To install, start Windows. Open the File Menu and click Run. Put the installation disk in your a: drive and enter A:SETUP on Run's command line. If you put the disk in your b: drive, enter B:SETUP. If you're installing from a directory on your hard drive, enter the full path plus SETUP (for example: C:\TEMPDIR\SETUP). The installation procedure checks to ensure you have Windows 3.1 or 3.11 and that your system meets certain other requirements. If all is in order, it displays the default directory for WinCharging's files. You can put WinCharging's files in any directory you wish, but as with any other major program, the files should be placed in their own directory, and that directory should be right off the root directory for optimum efficiency (e.g., C:\WINCHARG). ========================================================= GETTING STARTED WinCharging comes with a special online Help file called MeFirst!. It's easy to read and comes with loads of graphics to simplify the setup process. When you start WinCharging the first time, it asks you if you would like to see MeFirst!. Reply yes. With both WinCharging and MeFirst! open, you can simply + back and forth, first reading MeFirst! about how to do something, then switching back to WinCharging to actually do it. When you no longer need MeFirst! you can delete it by simply selecting a command found on the File Menu. ========================================================= ORDERING WINCHARGING WinCharging Deluxe (the registered version) is identical to the shareware version but comes with the following additional features: 1. It allows multiple userfiles (databases). 2. It lets you password protect each userfile. 3. It comes with a powerful Archive feature. 4. It comes with AutoLoad Override. For more information on the deluxe edition, open the Help file for WinCharging and search on "deluxe edition". Version 1.10 Find: The Match Verbatim checkbox didn't work properly. Version 1.00a Grid Work and Details of Outstanding Bills: If you entered the edit mode for either of these forms and then clicked the scrollbar, the edit field remained on the screen. Clicking the scrollbar now ends the edit mode without saving any changes. PDM Accounts: Changing a PDM record's amount in Grid Work would, when the record amount was greater than the account's total outstanding amount, incorrectly calculate the result. ========================================================= WinCharging (c) Copyright 1994 My Little Realm Enterprises
