Use them wisely! ============================================================= ============================================================= * The many heart containers scattered through the land are essential to your survival. Collect them all. * In order to pick up the White Sword, you must have at least 6 hearts in your life meter. The Magical Sword requires at least 12 hearts. * The White Sword is located at the top of the waterfall at the end of the long river. The Magical Sword is in the graveyard. * The Power Bracelet is located in the north end of Hyrule, guarded by ten statues. Touch the one at the upper right of the group to get it. * If you get stuck in the Forest of Maze, go north, west, south, west to escape, or simply go east. * To reach Level 5, go east of the waterfall, then climb up the mountain 5 times. * You must have the Magic Flute to enter level 7. * If possible, buy a Magic Shield. There is one worth only 90 rubies located near the lake. Look for a group of bushes on the lower right of the screen, then burn the upper left bush. * If you have a raft, head for the ocean. Look for a dock heading outward, and ride across to a hidden cave. Inside is a heart container. * If you meet an old man who will let you decide between a Life Potion or Heart Container, always take the Heart Container. * There are two blastable walls in Level 1. One is straight upward from the entrance; the other is in the room just east of this room. * Be sure to find the Bow in Level 1. It will be a welcome addition to your inventory. * The Wooden Boomerang is hidden in Level 1. * The Magical Boomerang is hidden in Level 2. * Use the boomerang to stun many of the enemies. * Beware of the Wall Masters! They like to reach out of the walls and drag you back to the beginning of the level. They only appear in Levels 1 and 7. * To beat Dodongo, throw 2 bombs into his mouth. * Make sure you find the raft in Level 3. You need it to reach Level 4 and to find a hidden Heart Container in the middle of the ocean. * To beat the boss of Level 3, try tossing a bomb onto his midsection. If you aim just right, he will be completely destroyed. * The Stepladder is hidden in Level 4. It is essential for crossing rivers and small holes. * Use a candle to light up pitch-black rooms. * To destroy the Pols Voice, shoot it with an arrow. * The boss of Level 5, Digdogger, can only be attacked using the Magic Flute, hidden in the same level. Blow it once, then attack him with your sword. * There is a Bomb Powerup in Level 5 which will allow you to carry 4 extra bombs. However, it comes with a hefty price tag: it costs 100 rubies to collect. * The Magic Wand is hidden in Level 6. * Beware of Wizzrobes, especially the strong blue ones, as they fire very quickly. The blue ones fire on you like there was no tomorrow. * To defeat Gohma, the boss of Level 6, shoot one arrow at his eye when it is open. * Gleeok, the boss from Level 4, returns in Level 6, this time with 3 heads instead of 2. He appears again as the boss of Level 8, but with 4 heads. * Make sure you have food before entering Level 7. There will be a monster blocking your path at one point who will move only if fed. * The Red Candle is hidden in Level 7, in an unmarked room. * Level 7 contains a second Bomb Powerup. If you already collected the one from Level 5, then collect this one to carry a maximum of 16 bombs. * Once you reach the upper right room of Level 7, defeat all the Wall Masters, then push the block in the center line of blocks to reveal a secret passage. * There is a Book Of Magic and a Magical Key in Level 8. * Make sure to find the Book Of Magic. It will make your Magic Wand stronger. * Gohma returns in Level 8, stronger and faster than his first appearance from Level 6. Here, he requires 3 shots to the eye. * The entrance to Level 9 is located at the very north end of Hyrule, north of the long river. * Just west of Level 9, there is an old woman who sells medicine. It is recommended that if you don't have medicine by the time you reach Level 9, go visit her. * The Red Ring and Silver Arrow are hidden in Level 9. * Make sure you find the Silver Arrow in Level 9. You need it to destroy Gannon. * One of the Patras holds the map for Level 9. The compass is hidden in the right eye. * Before you can even enter Level 9, you must have all 8 pieces of the Triforce. * To destroy Gannon, keep your eyes on where the fireballs are spawning from and try attacking that area. If you are lucky, Gannon will pop up and scream. Hit him 4 times with the magic sword, then switch to the arrow and shoot him with one arrow. * If at all possible, when you start a new game, save all your money until you reach full capacity (255 rubies).
