ClipFile by A.S. Software Version 0.2 beta This is a second beta release of ClipFile, a Windows 95 shell extension. It is free (but not public domain), and I would appreciate any comments you have. It is not complete, and there is scope to put a lot more into it, but I would like to know how useful you find it, and what features you would like to have. I'm not going to spend time doing things nobody wants! The next version will have a lot more features, and will be shareware, but anyone who contributes useful suggestions will get a free license. ClipFile is copyright software. The beta version may be distributed freely and used without charge, provided all the files listed below are distributed together and not modified in any way. In theory you could avoid this by uninstalling 0.1 first, but the uninstall routine in that version doesn't work - sorry! Changes since version 0.1: All files are sorted, including multiple selections in the current folder. Files are sorted before directories (it was the reverse). I did it because detailed listings seem easier to read that way. File details can now be listed (this was what everyone asked for). Some features of this are short-term, e.g. you get details by holding Ctrl+Shift, which also means you can't now get quoted short names (if you ever wanted them). Also the layout is fixed, and the date/time format is not localised. Detailed listings give you the total size of files in folders, which is a recursive total if the listing is recursive. This is a good way to find which directory trees are eating all that disk space. Uninstall works (sort of), see ClipFile.doc. It didn't work at all in 0.1. Look out for version 1.0 Richard Jones CIS:100716,1273
