Really major thanks go to Chuck Hoeltje for verifying the boards listed in this issue. The boards listed in this issue either answered with a carrier (at least once) or busy signal (repeatedly) during the last month. Chuck spent many hours testing and developing a system to test the numbers listed in this issue of NJBBS. THANK YOU! By the time you receive this list it will be out-dated, but please be assured that it was the most accurate list available anywhere the day it was released. Included in this archive are the following files: NJBBS165.TXT NJBBS Listings NJBBS165.ANS NJBBS Listings in ANSI format for SysOps to post FILE_ID.DIZ File Description DESC.SDI File Description NJBBS.TXT This File (You're reading it) NJBBS.EXE The NJBBS viewer program (run it, you'll like it) Only NJBBS includes, NJBBS.EXE, a viewer/sorter/finder that will also work with the USBBS listings. Just type NJBBS, that's all you need to do. It will load in the most recent issue of NJBBS found in that directory. The viewer will even remind you when it's time to get a new issue of NJBBS. To use NJBBS with the US BBS listings, type: NJBBS -U You can sort NJBBS by SysOp, location, BBS type, or baud rate. It's all pretty self-explanatory, just use the F-Keys and read the prompts. The sorts are lightning fast. The display can be changed by pressing the mode key, and it will display your sorted list with the columns is various order. Just keep pressing the mode key until the arrangement you want appears. You can change the display colors to anything you like also. You can configure a list of area code and exchanges that are toll free and the program will search out those boards. You can save the found numbers to a file or print them out. To configure your toll free list press [F6] from the main viewing menu. Select LOCAL [F2] from the config menu, then press [F2] to edit, then 0 to access the first entry. Type in the first area code, a "-" and exchange on your list. Keep selecting and editing until you've entered all your toll-free numbers (or 20, which ever comes first), press [F3] to save this configuration. From the main screen you can now select FIND [F2], then [F7] for local. The program runs so fast you won't believe your eyes. Unlike other viewers, the NJBBS viewer also works on USBBS, which is a large national listing found on many boards (the latest issue for March is USBBS142.ZIP). To have NJBBS read in the USBBS list type: NJBBS -U and it will read in the most recent issue. This great program was created by Todd Whitmore from ideas from Chuck Hoeltje of the Info-Nation BBS. The effort was donated to Wayne Morton (the NJBBS list keeper) as a Christmas present in 1994. My thanks to Todd & Chuck, I hope you enjoy their effort.
