This document is a simple statement of the rules for joining and participating in the League #411 BRE/Falcon's Eye game. Most of it is common sense, but please read through it at least once. :-) The following are the current settings for the League #411 game: Game Start Date: 01/01/96 Game Join Date: Immediately Turns Per Day: 5 Turns of Protection: 26 Initial Market Land: 20000 Land Created / Day: 2000 Standard Wages: 15 Starting Land: 100 Starting People: 100 Starting Silver: 15000 Starting Food: 2000 Starting Stone Blocks: 200 Starting Weapons: 1000 Starting Runes: 25 Max Local Attacks: 0 Max Players: 25 InterBBS Group Attacks: 3 InterBBS Individual Attacks: 5 Days for "Lost Attacks": 10 Dupe Checking: Optional (Enabled recommended) Please note that the above settings are _NOT_ set in stone, and may be changed before or after the start date. Requirements for Admission: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Generally speaking, the requirements for entrance into League #411 are fairly simple. The first requirement is that you fill out the bottom of this application, and netmail it as a message to the league coordinator (see bottom of rules for contact information). You MUST be a member of IVnet to become a member of the League #411 Falcon's Eye game. If you need information on joining IVnet, please FREQ IVNET from 411:411/0 IVnet or 1:115/583 Fidonet. Starting Date: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ League #411 is currently set to start at 12:00am (CST) on 1/01/96, at which time a league-wide reset will occur. Ending Date: ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There currently isn't one. Depending on the number of nodes who participate, an ending date may not be necessary. Therefore the official ending date is: "To Be Announced". Rules, Regulations, and Responsibilities: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The following Rules, Regulations, and Responsibilities are required of ALL League #411 SysOps. Any disregard for these rules will be reviewed by the league coordinator, at which time any necessary action will be taken against said system. All coordinator decisions are final. 1) All League #411 Systems should be running the current, latest version approved by the league coordinator. A decision to upgrade will be made by the league coordinator only after a new version has been thoroughly tested first. Upgrades will be league-wide, and will be required of all systems. There will be a grace period of 10 days after such an announcement by which you must have switched to support the announced latest version. Extenuating circumstances should be reported to the coordinator IMMEDIATELY, and will be handled on a case-by-case basis. 2) All systems in League #411 _MUST_ be using the same settings as those officially published in the IVN_IPGAME message echo. Any system found to be using settings other than the officially published ones, will be considered to be cheating (see rule #3). 3) League #411 will definitely _NOT_ tolerate cheating of any kind. Any altering of data files, deletion of attacks, changing of dates, editing of settings, or any other tampering with the normal progress of the game will be construed as cheating. A) Cheating can be the death of a good league game, therefore if a system is found guilty of said offense, their position in the league will be forfeited, and they will _NOT_ be given a second chance. B) If you suspect a League #411 system of cheating, then you _MUST_ notify the league coordinator via private netmail. Please indicate in as great of detail as you can, which system is suspected, and any pertinent information that indicates the possibility of cheating. The coordinator will then investigate the matter, and a decision will be made. All decisions will be final. C) If your system suffers a crash or other mishap that requires either a reset of the game, or a restoral from backup, then you _MUST_ notify the league coordinator immediately. Failure to do so, could result in suspension/removal of a system for suspicion of cheating. 5) All League #411 systems are expected to poll the coordinator's system at LEAST 3 times WEEKLY. If you wish to have your packets transferred more frequently, you may do so. As an option, you may contact the IVnet Zone Control (411:411/0) to set up the ability to poll them for your packets. In addition, if your Area Coordinator or Hub is a member of League #411 and they are willing to let you poll them, packets may be routed through them. 6) All coordinator packet processing will take place ONCE a night, at 12:00am (CST) ONLY. This is done to discourage systems who monopolize the time directly after or before processing to gain an advantage. It is HIGHLY recommended that League #411 systems adhere to this processing system as well. League #411 system ARE required to process incoming/outgoing packets at least once per 24 hours. 7) Any eventualities not covered by this rule document will be judged on a case-by-case basis. All decisions by the coordinator of this league are FINAL. You may certainly discuss a decision with the coordinator via netmail in a mature and non-hostile fashion, but do not EXPECT a reversal of a decision on a whim.
