EPubNet is pleased to redistribute the entire Gutenberg Project to date
and to distribute new entries in the project as they become available.

However, some explanation needs to be made regarding pre-1980 texts. The
distribution files bear the original "official" release date, when known,
or December 31, 1980, when not known. Today's computers do not provide
the ability to display or encode dates prior to 1980. Thus, all nine of
the original Gutenberg Files are being released with their rerelease dates,
or the 1980 date.

Please note: the original files were in all CAPITALS, and contained limited
punctuation, as that was all that was available in those days. The files
used for the rerelease are the latest files, containing upper and lower case.

Also note that we will be distributing the Gutenberg Shakespeare texts,
which were never officially released, but are maintained at the Gutenberg 
sites.

All files distributed by the Electronic Publishers Network contain an
embedded text file for our distributors, U.S. Robotics, authenticity 
verification, and a standard FILE_DI.DIZ file, which can be read by 
most BBS software packages to generate a full file listing.
