It will handle all aspects of getting the DeskMenu! files in the right place, and putting an icon into a Program Manager group for you. If you would prefer to handle the installation yourself, see the information below. Otherwise, just press the Continue button and let it go! ------------------- Manual Installation ------------------- File Locations -------------- CTL3D.DLL Must be located in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. DMHOOK.DLL Must be located in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. DESKMENU.EXE Any directory. Must be located with DESKMENU.HLP. DESKMENU.HLP Any directory. Must be located with DESKMENU.EXE. DESKMENU.STP Any directory. Must be located with DESKMENU.EXE. Creating the icon ----------------- If you already know how to install a Windows application, then place the executable file (DESKMENU.EXE) wherever you like. Otherwise, copy the program file into your Windows directory and run Windows. Then, follow these steps: 1. In the Program Manager, open your Main icon ( if it is not already open ). 2. Select the File menu in the menu bar of the Program Manager and make the New... selection 3. When the dialog box opens, press the OK button. 4. Press the BROWSE button to open the file selector. Use the controls in this window to display the directory that contains the files in the DeskMenu! archive. 5. In the file selector, scroll down to the bottom of the list. Double click on DESKMENU.EXE. 6. When you are ready, press OK and OK again. The DeskMenu! icon should now appear in your Main group. The program can be run by double clicking on the new icon. If you would like DeskMenu! to come up automatically, install it into your Startup group instead of the Main group.
