Installing FaxMill ================== This chapter explains how to install and set up the FaxMill application NOTE: This guide does not include any hardware installation procedures. To install computer or peripheral hardware or system software, refer to the manufacturer’s documentation. Preparing for installation Before beginning the installation in this document, set up your computer system and connect any peripheral devices that are to be used with FaxMill. Don't be concerned if some peripheral equipment is unavailable at the time of installation. This equipment can be set up for use with FaxMill at a later time. Installing FaxMill software FaxMill software is shipped on one 3.5-inch diskette. To install the application: 1. Insert diskette #1 in your computer floppy disk. 2. Click the Windows 95 Start button (Windows 3.1 user should use the Program Manager to launch the installer). A pop-up menu appears. 3. Choose Run from the pop-up menu. The Run dialog appears. 4. Type a:\install.exe in the Run dialog and click OK. 5. The select drive dialog box appears 6. Choose the drive where you would like FaxMill installed then click OK. 7. The Select Directory dialog box appears. 8. To accept the default directory name (FaxMill), click OK. To choose another name for FaxMill, type the name and path in the text box and click OK. The Installer will copy the required files to your hard disk. 9. The select program group dialog appears. 10. Use the dialog box to either select an existing program group or to create a new program group. Then, click OK. If you choose Select Program Group, a Select Program Group dialog box appears, allowing you to choose a program group from a list. Click OK to continue. 11. When the installation is complete, a dialog box informs you that the installation was successful. 12. Click OK. FaxMill application is now installed and ready to use. Launching FaxMill ================= To lauch FaxMill, double-click on the FaxMill icon in the FaxMill group.
