NOTES ON SPECIFIC DOS PROGRAMS & INCOMPATIBILITY


QMODEM:  use only Speed_w and back up files before starting
SCRIPTWARE v1.50:  use only Speed_w.  Scriptware makes many illegal system
    calls which make macros and extended buffer useless
EDIT (Win95 only): Speed.exe okay but macro playback limited to 32 characters
    unless you make liberal use of <ctrl+alt+P> for about every 30th char
    to trick Edit.  Edit.com must use its own 32 char keyboard buffer which
    fails to signal overflow -- Edit keeps eating characters when it
    shouldn't (Microsoft--can you do something about this?).  Also--just
    press <Alt> key again after using any <ctrl+alt> combination.
PERFECT EDITOR v.1.54: use Speed_s.
