CATADOOM

Catadoom is one of the largest and spookiest DooM II levels you
will ever have played.  It is set in Roman catacombs now occupied
by a colony of Orcs and their Baron leaders living amongst the
bones and spirits.  You will be the first man to enter for 2000
years, and you are going to upset the Orcs and wake the Dead. 
You will find a complex of tombs, chapels, crematoria, halls,
passages, a vast fiery cauldron, and a Temple of Mithras packed
with Orcs and a preacher from Hell.  When you eventually emerge
into the open air of the walled garden, you will have escaped.

It was to be called Catacomb, but that name has been used before.

Catadoom is a level of overpowering gloom and menace.  The
architecture is classically ornate (nothing as crude as guts
wallpaper) and the lighting is sinister (but never totally dark). 
No-where is ever safe and you can never clear an area for sure. 
A place of peace and quiet may turn into a bloodbath; and
anything can creep up behind at any time.  It's terrifying. 
There are some laughs though, like in the Temple, and by the pool
in the colonnaded atrium.  Play Catadoom as it is meant to be :
Ultra-Violent, after dark, with the lights out.  Use a plastic
sheet on your chair.

Catadoom is huge, but carefully designed for solo, co-op and
deathmatch .  You should find no bugs, not even texture mismatches. 
It has been play-tested and tuned by the author and friends
ad-nauseum.  The tricks and features (including some not seen in
Doom levels before) and the way the level unfolds, all work the way
they should.  It has many of its own sounds and textures.  It is a
big download, but it is no ordinary level and you will not be
disappointed.
