IECC Weekly Bulletin
                         January 8, 1997

This weekly bulletin is designed to improve communications between the
staff of IECC and its membership.

We feel that this is necessary to avoid the calamity that caused the
original demise of IECG, prior to its reorganization by dedicated
members, who had to rebuild without access to valuable records.

Despite the titles used by IECC staff, we are not a commercial
enterprise. Our "product" is a service to those who enjoy playing chess
via the Internet.

Nevertheless, there is a hidden cost in the operation of IECC;
specifically the time and energy of the volunteers of IECC Staff.

Obviously, it is only by increases in Staff that the burden of work can
be spread fairly. It is equally obvious that the failure to replace
Staff members who cannot continue to work for IECC -- for one reason of
another -- will necessitate decreasing the membership of IECC.

In short, those who can: please volunteer.
