S_ASIA.ZIP ========= Author: Volker Raab CIS 100117,1684 FILES: S_ASIA.TXT: you're reading it S_ASIA.BGL: some runways SASIANAV.BGL: all VORs and NDBs SASIANAV.TXT: list of all navaids and runways CREDITS: Thanx to Enrico Schiratti and Enno Borgsteede for patiently answering my questions. The scenery compiler I used was BGLGEN v0.3c by Enno Borgsteede This scenery was created as an eastern complement to AFRBGL by Hans van Wijhe Last but not least many thanx to Rick Lee, Bryant Arnett and all the other sysops of Compuserve's FSFORUM for their good work. Keep it up guys! PLEASE NOTE: This software is completely FREEWARE. So you can do with it what you want but it would be extremely unfair to earn money with it. INITIATIVE: If you think this software useful for your scenery projects and you would have spent some money for it if it would've been shareware please give this money to help organizations which try to help Rwandian refugees and fight against the humanitarian catastrophe at Goma's refugee camps! Such desasters must not happen at the end of the 20th century!!! (An initiative started by Enrico Schiratti, the author of EAST AFRICA mark II scenery) HOW TO: Copy S_ASIA.BGL and SASIANAV.BGL to the SCENERY subdirectory of your FS5 (e.g. to c:\fs5\scenery) If you only need the navaids for your own projects then use only SASIANAV.BGL DESCRIPTION: Although this is my first scenery upload to the forum it wasn't my first BGLGEN-scenery at all. My first project was Middle East to complete Hans van Wijhe's great EURBGL to the south east. But Hans was faster than me with his AFRBGL which includes Middle East and so I made this scenery to connect his AFRBGL to Thailand. This scenery has 350 VORs and NDBs covering Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maledives, Diego Garcia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar (Burma) and Thailand. The real world aviation charts I used were MES04 by Jeppesen. Due to a lack of time I couldn't use Hiroo Umeno's BGLCOMP to include visual scenery except some BGLGEN-made runways in S_ASIA.BGL (BTW it's better this way since I've never been there!). So feel free to use SASIANAV.BGL for your own projects in this area. FSPLAN v1.04 (by John Trindle) doesn't work properly with this scenery, it only shows wINS. This is because of the special search algorithm FSPLAN uses and not because there aren't any navaids (use Enno Borgsteede's WINBGL if you don't believe me!). Maybe a newer version of FSPLAN can handle it. BTW it would be a great thing if every scenery designer would devide navaids from visual scenery to avoid overlaping effects. HAVE A NICE FLIGHT !
