Recently a DOOM II editor named DEU2, Version 1.00., by Adler was released. The forementioned, is a modifyed version of DEU5.21, by Raphael Quinet (quinet@montefiore.ulg.ac.be), and Brendon J. Wyber (b.wyber@csc.canterbury.ac.nz). Many thanks to the writer for the contribution, so we DOOM wad makers can get right to work. However, It has one flaw, that is, that I could find. It has NO new DOOM II textures for the ceiling(s), and floor(s). Rather than having to rewrite the program, which I am not sure I could do. I found an alternate way to cheat the editor into accepting the new ceiling and floor textures. The process is a bit of a pain, but it does work though. The trick is to edit the DEU2.INI file, in the DEFAULT textures area, under floor and/or ceiling textures. Under the appropriate header, type the NEW texture name for the ceiling and/or floor. If, you run a check for texture name validity with the editor, it will give off an error code, indicating the texture is not a valid one, you can ignore it, and save the PWAD file as is. By now you're probably saying, yeah right, but how do we know what the new texture names are. Well, you could go through each of the 32 levels and check for the new textures, or you can keep reading this file and find out what they all are. The list to follow includes ALL the NEW ceiling and floor textures I could find in DOOM II, Hell on Earth. They have the exact texture name, and a brief description as well. They total 30 NEW textures, I believe there's possibly more. Hey!, this was a quicky, and a freebie, what do ya want?
