The alternate sites on the internet where .WAD files can be obtained
generally seek out the NEWSTUFF areas, these tend to have the latest distribution files ready

FTP to the following "mirror" sites instead of to infant2, as the latter is next to impossible to connect to because of the # of users vying for its "air" time!

login as anonymous, and you'll be prompted  to send your complete e/mail adress as your password.

wcarchive.cdrom.com		look in the doom directory
ftp.uni-erlangen.de		look in the /pub/pc/msdos/doom directory
ftp.sun.ac.za			look in the /pub/msdos/doom directory
iglou.com			look in the doom dir ( this site is usually the 				least busy and thus most available)

flinux.tu-graz.ac.at		look in the /pub/doom dir
ftp.dungeon.com			in the /pub/msdos/games/doom dir
aurora.bld189.jccbi.gov		look in the infant2 dir and explore
ftp.cdrom.com			in the /pub/doom area
ftp.luth.se			in the /pub/doom dir
ftp.orst.edu			in the /pub/gaming/doom area

remember that in UNIX some names may be directories and not files, to do a directory give the command: ls -f   (the -f parameter will indicate the subdirectories w/ a slash after the name whereas regular files will appear plain)
