Welcome to the Compare tutorial for Norton
Backup! In this lesson you will learn how backup
comparisons are performed.

The Compare operation of Norton Backup will
verify that your backup files are identical to
the originals.  A successful Compare operation
guarantees that your backup is 100-percent
reliable and fully restorable.

It is also a quick way to identify new or 
changed files that did not appear in the backup 
set you made earlier.

To perform a Compare you need to have backed up
some files, and have all of the disks
available.  For this lesson, we will compare the
DOS backup set from the Backup section of this
tutorial against the original DOS directory it
was backed up from.
