Loan·Calculator! Plus 1.0s While we hope that you find LOAN·CALCULATOR! PLUS useful, we fully understand that there will be some people who will want to remove the program from their computer system. This file documents how to use the AUTOMATIC UNINSTALL program that is distributed along with LOAN·CALCULTOR! PLUS. BACKGROUND INFORMATION : When LOAN·CALCULATOR! PLUS is installed, it does not modify any of your INI files. All program files are copied to the '\LOANPLUS' directory (or any other directory that you might have specified). One configuration file 'LOANPLUS.INI' is copied to your '\WINDOWS' directory. And additionally, three files _might_ have been copied by _our_ install program to your '\WINDOWS\SYSTEM' directory. They are BWCC.DLL, WINSYS.DLL and DEWCC.DLL. We say _might_, because it is possible that they were on your hard drive prior to installing LOAN·CALCULATOR! PLUS because you may have some other program installed that depends upon these universal files. This is important to understand BEFORE you run the uninstall program. HOW TO UNINSTALL : The uninstall progrma is NOT copied to the '\LOANPLUS' subdirectory. To run the uninstall program you will have to put the original disk in drive A: or B: (or if you downloaded the program from an on-line service or BBS, you'll need to decompress the .ZIP file if you erased it from your hard disk.) Click on the PROGRAM MANGER's FILE menu option and select RUN. RUN UNINSTAL.exe (on drive A: or B: or in the subdirectory where you unzipped the file that you downloaded). You'll be prompted to uninstall LOAN·CALCULATOR! PLUS. The uninstall program will automatically erase all files in the '\LOANPLUS' directory and the '\LOANPLUS.INI file in the '\WINDOWS' directory. It will also allow you to optionally delete BWCC.dll, WINSYS.DLL and DEWCC.DLL. UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THAT NO OTHER PROGRAM THAT YOU HAVE INSTALLED USES THESE FILES, WE SUGGEST THAT YOU ANSWER 'NO' WHEN ASKED IF YOU WANT TO DELETE THEM. FYI, BWCC.dll, DEWCC.DLL & WINSYS.DLL, all together, take up on about 406K of space. So unless you absolutely need this space, we strongly suggest that you do NOT delete them when prompted by the uninstall. If you really want to recapture this hard drive space and you are not sure if you have other programs that require these 3 .DLLs, then we suggest that you use Window's file manager to rename them to something like BWCC.DL2 etc. If after a few weeks (or months) you've had no problems with any of your prog rams, then you can assume that it is safe to delete them. On the other hand if you have a program that reports, for example 'Missing WINSYS.DLL', just rename the WINSYS.DL2 back to WINSYS.DLL. [REMOVE.TXT] [Revised 04/15/95]
