Galactic Tracker, version 3.0, Released April 27, 1995 Copyright (C) 1995 Karl Eric Beisel Important Information Before you can run anything, you need the Visual Basic 3.0 runtime DLL, VBRUN300.DLL, which you should place in your Windows\System directory. If you need this file, you can download it from many BBSs, and Compuserve's Microsoft forum. Note that Galactic Tracker 2.01 and earlier required version 2.0 of the DLL (VBRUN200.DLL). Version 3.0 requires version 3.0 of the DLL. Version 3.0 Information: (*) There is no Merge database feature in this version. Sorry, but I just did not have time to finish it. Instead, get your allies' RST files and load them as one of the players in the Game Properties dialog. Also, this program took forever to complete, since I don't have a lot of time to devote to this. I didn't get much chance to really test it out and debug everything... I expect you'll encounter bugs. Please report them if you do. Otherwise, please enjoy! (1) Documentation: Complete documentation for Galactic Tracker is in GALTRAK.HLP. You can open this help file by clicking on Galactic Tracker's Help/Contents menu, or by pressing F1 at any time in the program. Release History is available in GALTRAK.HLP. (2) Files: The original Galactic Tracker archive contains the following files: galtrak.exe Main executable galtrak.hlp Help file (Documentation) cmdialog.vbx Common Dialog box extension file_id.diz File description readme.txt This ReadMe file register.txt Order form for Galactic Tracker (3) Upgrading from older versions of Galactic Tracker/Galactic Spy: All registered users of Galactic Tracker/Galactic Spy 1.x may use the same registration codes to register Galactic Tracker 3.0. Version 3.0 databases are NOT compatible with older 1.x and 2.x databases. You will need to start a new database from scratch. Galactic Tracker 3.0 saves databases differently than in previous versions. It uses a document-style approach used by most Windows applications. Galactic Tracker 3.0 saves game information in files with the extension *.GTD. Galactic Tracker settings are stored in the GTD files as well. For more information, see Galactic Tracker Help.
