WELCOME TO KLAUNCH VERSION 1.1!! March 12, 1995 TABLE OF CONTENTS 1. Setting up KLAUNCH 2. Known compatibility problems 3. How to contact the author 4. What's new in this version 1. Setting up KLAUNCH UNZIP the KLAUNCH files into a temporary directory, and run the INSTALL.EXE program contained therein. You'll be prompted for a directory in which to install KLAUNCH. There may be a single break in the install during which you'll be told that the CTL3DV2.DLL file is in use and cannot be updated. Clicking the "Ignore" button here should do the trick. You'll also be asked which Program Manager group to place KLAUNCH in. I recommend either Accessories or Startup, depending on whether or not you'd like KLAUNCH running all of the time. This README file is then displayed, and the installation is complete! Just click on the KLAUNCH icon to start things going, and when you get a chance, delete the temporary directory and files. 2. Known compatibility problems ATI MACH32 - On one machine tested, there was a protection fault in the video driver upon leaving Windows while KLAUNCH was running. Switching to regular VGA drivers eliminated the problem. This matter is still under investigation. REPLACEMENT SHELLS - At the present time, KLAUNCH will only operate properly when PROGMAN is the Windows shell program. Norton Desktop for Windows and Dashboard are possible shell replacements with which future versions of KLAUNCH will be compatible. 3.
