**** PSYMED HELP **** ** KEYS USED ** HELP SCREEN ============ Move thru this help screen by * the UP and DOWN arrow keys. The * PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN keys also can * be used. Exit by hitting ESC. * PSYMED ====== Keys required to navigate PSYMED * are primarily the UP, DOWN * arrow keys, and the PAGE UP and * PAGE DOWN keys. * Use the UP or DOWN arrow keys to * move the shaded bar over the * selection desired and press ENTER. * PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN keys are used * during PSYMED SCAN searches to go * to next page of choices. PAGE * DOWN goes forward, PAGE UP goes * backward. ESC exits all functions. * Selections can also be made from * the "top" primary menu by using * the first letter of the selection. * I.e. Brandname search, use "B". * ** TYPES OF SEARCHES ** There are two types of searches * made for a medication. Specific * or General. * With a Specific search, you key * in the exact spelling of the * medication desired. * With a General search, PSYMED will * display a special "scan" screen * and allow you to view various * medications that fit your * particular search category. * A search for a drug definition may ******************** be made based on the following * criteria: Brand Name - (B) : **************** If you know the particular Brand * name, i.e. THORAZINE, select entry "B". Key in the name and PSYMED will bring up the drug * definition. Generic Name - (G) : ****************** * A generic name search is similar * in procedure to a brand name search.* Key in the Generic name, i.e. Chlorpromazine for a psymed search. * You may also key in a partial spelling of the generic name and PSYMED will find any "matched" medications. Partial Word Search - (P) ******************* If you only know a few of the * letters of a brand name, * a partial search will allow * you to key in what you know. * Psymed will search for a drug match * and display all occurances found. * You may select any "found" drugs * for display. * Category - (C) ********* * Use this type of psymed search if * you are looking for a particular * drug (name unknown) within a * defined category - such as * antidepressants, antipsychotics,etc.* Can also be used simply to view * various categories of drugs. * List All - (L) ******** * This option will list all drugs * within the PSYMED database. You * may select any listed drugs for a * complete definition. Drugs are * listed alphabetically. * *** OTHER *** Manufacturers - (M) ************* This selection will provide a * comprehensive list of the * manufacturers of the drugs listed * within the PSYMED database. You may * view address information on a * particular manufacturer or list all * medications produced by selected * manufacturer. * Manufacturer address information may * be also viewed any time while * viewing a particular medication by * simply hitting the F1 key. * Exit - (E) **** Exit PSYMED program and return to the MSDOS or PCDOS operating * system. * ESC will also exit to DOS. *
