Programmers Helper is an easy to use program requiring very little memory, enabling you out find out what you need, and get back to programming instead of looking for all your tools. PH.COM & PPH.EXE will both run with color and monochrome. PPH.EXE is a TSR that after it has been loaded can be brought up at any time by pressing ALT-"period" keys together. PPH runs well with most products except Microsoft compilers. PH.COM is a non TSR version of Programers Helper. Either program runs the same after it has begun. A main menu appears giving you the option of: Ascii codes Calculator cOlors Keyboard Codes Us Quit By selecting the highlighted letter you move from one thoughtful function to another. Lets start with "A" in ASCII codes. By pressing "A/a" you are taken to the begining of the ASCII table. By using the up arrow you move up through the code one character at a time. To move things along, the Page Up key will zip you along at 10 characters a key stroke. To scroll back down just use the down arrow and the Page Down key. After you have finished with the ASCII table press "escape" to end. At this point you are back at the main menu. From there you can select another option or select "Q/q" to quit. Next is an integer calculator, by selecting "c/C" your taken to a RPN INTEGER calculator. To use the calculator you simply enter the operands onto the stack and then select the operation. You have the option of INTEGER addition, subtraction, multiplication and division (+,-,* and /). You can also roll the stack up and down with the up/down arrow keys on the number pad. The Del key will clear the X (bottom) register. To change the number base of the calculator use the R/r option. When you hit R/r the base display will highlight. You then simply enter the new base (2 - 16). To change it to base two you need to enter 02 (notice the leading zero) then hit enter. Any non valid base entry will cause the calculator to default back to the last base used. Want to figure out a color combination? Use the "O/o" and "A Sample line of text" appears. By selecting the up or down arrow keys the foreground color will change to the corresponding color number. Now by using the shift key in conjunction with the up and down arrow keys change the background color to you find the desired effect. Now select "escape" to end the color portion. Then "Q/q" to quit the program. Want to know what the extended code is for ALT-V or the character code for a little "r", just select the "K/k" from the main menu. Enter the key or keys and either the extended or ASCII character code will be displayed. You can even use the ALT-number pad and enter in the character code and see it displayed. To exit the keyboard menu use "escape" twice in a row. Us "U/u" is our plea for donations so that easy to use software from L&L Computer Systems will continue to be written. We hope you'll find Programers Helper easy, fast and useful. Thanks again for trying Programers Helper. For 24 hr. BBS fun call the Thunder Dome at 571-2533 2400/1200/300 8N1.
