CADTEXT (tm) CAD Text File Merge Utility (C) Copyright 1986 by John B. Adams,Jr. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now there is an easy-to-use utility program to allow merging of a text (ASCII) file into CAD application programs such as CADVANCE, AUTOCAD, VERSACAD, etc. and most other application software packages. From a text screen, such as a help screen, the combination brings up a pop-up window that asks for the path and file name of the text file. After reading the desired file, the program exits so the appropriate commands can be executed to prepare for text input. At this point, pressing the key combination will input the text from the file one line at a time, just as though you were typing it in yourself, but much faster. It's that easy. The program has an 8K file size limit. This would be 200 lines x 40 characters per line in CADVANCE, or 100 lines x 80 characters per line in AUTOCAD, which should be more than sufficient for most sets of notes on a drawing. The files can be set up with any text editor or word processor that produces a pure ASCII file. The program takes up only 60k of RAM and should work with most application software, as well as most CAD programs.
