----------------- USING RPLMEM.EXE ----------------- This file describes how to use RPLMEM.EXE, a memory- resident program that allows you to run Windows 3.0 in 386 enhanced mode on workstations that are booted from a network server (not from a local floppy or hard disk drive). To enable 386 enhanced mode on a workstation: --------------------------------------------- 1. Put the RPLMEM.EXE file in a location that the workstation can access while it is running Windows. For example, you can put it in the Windows directory. Or you can put it on the workstation's hard disk, if the workstation has a hard disk. 2. Add the pathname of RPLMEM.EXE to the workstation's AUTOEXEC.BAT file. Make sure to include the drive and directory where RPLMEM.EXE is located. If you put the file on a network drive, make sure the workstation connects to the network before it attempts to start RPLMEM.EXE. 3. Restart the workstation. RPLMEM.EXE should start at this time. 4. Start Windows 3.0 in 386 enhanced mode on the workstation. To use RPLMEM.EXE properly: ----------------------------- * Make sure RPLMEM.EXE is on a drive to which Windows can always gain access. In other words, don't put the file on a drive that can be accessed only while the workstation is being started. * Do not move the RPLMEM.EXE file while it is running. If you do, the program will be disabled and you will need to restart the workstation to restart the program.
