Although using a special approach, MarketMaster(tm) achieves (or exceeds) the same results of commercial forecasting software packages such as MESA ($450) or EPOCH ($995), while tolerating non-cyclical behavior. Those who use the CSI Probable Direction Indicator (PDI) may like MarketMaster(tm) even better. Tell us, if you agree or even if you don't. The same goes with EPOCH and MESA users. Let's hear from you too! Try MarketMaster(tm) without obligation but please register if you find it useful or beneficial. Registered users automatically receive one or more future updates FREE. As a registered user, you stand to make $10 each time someone registers your copy. At $10 a clip, this can add up quite quickly. Telephone support, utilities and trading tips are reserved for registered users. If you have a hard disk, you should create a subdirectory using what- ever name you like, and copy all the MarketMaster(tm) files over to the subdirectory. Unless you obtained MarketMaster(tm) on a disk with all the programs and support files already de-compressed and ready to run, you will note that MarketMaster(tm) and support files are compressed into a single self- extracting file with the name MKMSTxxx.EXE, where xxx are 3 digits which identifies the version number. For example, MKMST124.EXE contains version 1.24 of MarketMaster(tm). Always use the latest version. To extract the files, simply type MKMSTxxx and hit . For example, if you have MKMST124.EXE, then just type MKMST124. After file extraction is completed, make sure that your computer has the correct date by typing DATE and press . If the date shown is incorrect, enter the correct date. Thereafter, SIMPLY TYPE "GO" AND HIT THAT'S ALL THERE IS TO IT! ******************************************************************** ******************************************************************** 24-HOUR STOCK MARKET BBS: 408-733-9341 (300/1200/2400, 8/N/1) 24-HOUR FAX LINE: 408-746-0477 TECHNICAL SUPPORT PHONE LINE: 408-773-8715 ******************************************************************** ***** MORE DETAILED DISCUSSIONS ON HOW TO USE MarketMaster(tm) ***** ******************************************************************** After the introductory screens, hitting any key begins the running of MarketMaster(tm). THE PROGRAM THEN ASKS FOR A FILE NAME. YOU CAN ENTER "DEMO" IN WHICH CASE THE PROGRAM WILL USE THE "DEMO.DBF" FILE CONTAINING ACTUAL SAMPLE DATA TO DEMONSTRATE TO YOU ITS CAPABILITIES. IF YOU WANT TO DO YOUR OWN ANALYSIS, DO NOT ENTER "DEMO" BUT ENTER THE NAME OF THE FILE YOU WANT TO USE. IF THAT FILE DOES NOT EXIST, IT IS AUTOMATICALLY CREATED FOR YOU SO THAT YOU CAN THEN BEGIN DATA ENTRY FOR THAT FILE. FOR EXAMPLE, IF YOU WANT TO CALL THE DATA FILE FOR IBM STOCK "IBM", THEN JUST TYPE "IBM" AS THE FILE NAME WHEN ASKED. IF A FILE NAMED "IBM.DBF" EXISTS ON DISK, IT WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY FETCHED AND OPENED. IF THE FILE DOES NOT EXIST, IT WILL BE CREATED. Once the proper data file is chosen (or created, if not found on disk), you are ready to use the functions. You will be presented with a spread -sheet-like command menu. If you are familiar with Lotus 1-2-3, you will know how to move from one command to the next by moving the arrow keys, moving the space bar, or merely by pressing the first letter corresponding to the command at the bottom of the screen. As you move from command to command, a brief description of the function of the high-lighted command will be displayed on the last line of the screen. Use the space bar to move to the different commands and familiarize yourself with the functions of each command. Note that the Delete command is a toggle in that it will alternate between the function of delete and undelete. The use of the View command immediately put you in a line-by-line display of data records. Once you are in view mode the Lotus-like menu, will no longer be operative. Instead, use the new commands as described on the top of screen to navigate or manipulate data. For example, ^U means pressing down the key and then press the U key. It is the same as the delete/undelete toggle in the earlier Lotus-like menu. You can mark each line of record as deleted or undeleted using Control-U key combination. Likewise, you can use F2 key to edit any record while in view mode. The F3 key allows you to append or add a record, and so forth. You can use the arrows to move from record to record, and from field to field. To get out of the view mode, you simply press the key, and the Lotus-like menu will again be presented at the bottom of the screen, ready to carry out the commands you choose. Before you do your own analysis, you should play with the DEMO historic data that comes with the disk just so that you become familiar with the MarketMaster(tm) program. To do so, simply enter "DEMO" as the File Name when you are asked. MarketMaster(tm) works with any IBM PC or clone with 512K RAM but a hard disk and an EGA or VGA monitor are strongly recommended. If you use "DEMO" as the file name, it already contains sufficient data. Once you hit '1' or '2' while in the main menu, you will see a graphic display seconds later. Three lines will be presented. The blue (or solid) line is the actual price for the last 50 days or less. The yellow (or dotted) line is the indicator which tends to precede the blue line and forecasts the probable future price direction. A 10-day moving average of price (given as a light-blue or dashed line) is also provided. Some users will not have an EGA or VGA monitor, therefore, the blue line will show up as a solid line (representing price), and the dotted line will represent the forecasting indicator. The dashed line is, as said before, the 10-day moving average for the closing price. For CGA monitors, the program picks the highest resolution which usually results in a two-color black and white display. Seeing how the indicator behaves visually gives you a good feel for the subsequent price movements. By visual observation of the relationship between the indicator and price and the directional behavior of the indicator, you gain an understanding of how to anticipate price movements based on the indicator. Indicators #1 and #2 complement each other. In particular, Indicator #2 tends to increase the lead time for price tops. MarketMaster(tm) assumes that the data are real historic observations and process them with that assumption. Certainly if the numbers are unreal, the processing will be meaningless and computational failure may result. To avoid problems, always use real historic data. For best results, pick only actively traded issues for your analysis. Not only will the forecasts tend to work out better, these are also the type of investment/trading instruments that you will want to use since they tend to offer the most opportunities for profit and the least slippage. Registered users receive the next release FREE and telephone support. They also receive useful tips on the interpretation and usage of the indicators. A utility to automatically input ASCII data files is also provided to registered users. Registered users' copies may be enhanced. If you are a registered user, you will automatically be notified of the new features when they become available and will be entitled to special discount prices on future forecasting products. ======================================================================== ***** HOW TO MAKE MONEY DISTRIBUTING MARKET_MASTER(TM) ***** If you are a registered user, your new disk will bear a unique serial number which identifies you. Thereafter, if you make copies of the disk and distribute them, and if any of the recipients registers and gives us your serial number, you will receive $10 directly from R.M.C. In addition, we encourage users of your copy of MarketMaster(tm) to distribute your copy for you. The utility GETPAID!.EXE that goes with MarketMaster(tm) does the job. Anyone who wants to distribute your copy of MarketMaster(tm) simply run the GETPAID!.EXE utility to insert his/her name, address and phone number. The GETPAID!.EXE utility makes him/her an "introducing user" and this information is prominently shown on the screen to subsequent users. Each time a user registers, $10 goes out to you whose serial number is mentioned and another $10 goes to the "introducing user". "Introducing users" are the best friends of registered users. They greatly increase the profits of registered users by widely distributing the latter's registered copies. To encourage and reward a registrant to give us your serial number, as well as the name and address of the "introducing user", we ask for that information and we reward him/her with one extra FREE update on Market_ Master(tm) (i.e. a total of TWO FREE updates) for simply giving that information when he/she sends in the registration fee. Additionally, registered users get special tips on using and interpreting our indicators and an ASCII import utility for inputting data automatically from ASCII files. Please note that your serial number becomes an integral part of your registered copy of MarketMaster(tm) and can never be altered. Therefore, any subsequent user of your copy who registers will always be able to give your serial number during registration. We compile a list of registered users with their unique serial numbers along with their names and addresses expressly for the purpose of sending bonus checks should they disseminate their registered copy of MarketMaster(tm) and for notification and sending of future updates and other useful information. If you move, let us know so that your address will be up-to-date. All users, shareware libraries, user groups, can join and participate simply by becoming registered users or "introducing users" and thereafter disseminating their copies of MarketMaster(tm) as widely as possible such as by uploading to local bulletin board systems, making copies and distributing them (for $10 a copy or less), etc. For more information, please read the accompanying file GETPAID!.TXT There are now about 30 million MS-/PC-DOS machines in the U.S. alone and growing.
