FLASHlink, Communications Software Cardinal Technologies, Inc, of Lancaster, Pa, has introduced a new Communications Software Package called FLASHlink. FLASHlink sets a new standard in ease of use and provides both error correction, MNP class 2 & 4, and data compression, MNP class 5. FLASHlink was designed for both the new user and the experienced professional. It is simple to install and use. A menu structured interface assists in setting up telephone directories, auto log-on information, file transfer, macro- keys, and much more. As you gain experience, you can override the menu structure with simple keystrokes. On- screen HELP is provided to assist when needed. FLASHlink uses MNP, Microcom Networking Protocol, to provide both error correction and data compression. Now rather than having to buy a new modem to get MNP you can use FLASHlink and your existing Hayes AT compatible. FLASHlink provides class 2 & 4 error correction. Never again do you need to see errors when online. Never again do you have to backspace over line errors to enter a command. Full time error correction not just error correction during file transfers, such as when using XMODEM. Additionally - Data Compression, MNP class 5, provides you with up to twice the data throughput. Yes, that means that your current 1200 bps modem will operate at up to 2400 bps. Your 2400 bps modem will operate at up to 4800 bps. This data compression is dependent upon the data being transmitted and it is most effective on text and tabular data, such as BBS menus. Cardinal Technologies also manufactures a full line of modems, graphics cards, and terminals. Gary Sanderson Manager Communication products 717-293-3036
