MEDLIN ACCOUNTING is a group of four companion accounting packages
providing fast, easy-to-use accounting services for the small- to
medium-sized business.

The main program, PC-GL, is a double-entry General Ledger module which
allows up to 800 items in the chart of accounts and 6,000 transactions
per period.  It can be used by itself or with PC-AP.  PC-AP is an
Accounts Payable program which allows a maximum of 2,000 vendors and
2,000 invoices per month.  PC-AR is a menu-driven Accounts Receivable
module, supporting up to 2,000 customers and 4,000 invoices per month.
PC-PR, the Payroll program, includes current Federal tax tables, support
for most state taxes, and a W-2 program.  All programs use similar
commands and share the same operating features.

New features to this version includes:

~ PC-GL -- When scrolling through data, the active line is highlighted

~ PC-AR -- Faster save-to-disk, page numbering on most reports, customer
codes on the AR ledger, select beginning and ending customer codes for
reports, single key jump from enter invoices to enter customers

~ PC-AP -- Maintain and display current bank balance, automatic posting
of offsetting entry in PC-GL, new accounts summary report totals unpaid
bills by account number, select beginning and ending code for reports,
single key jump from enter invoices to enter vendors

~ PC-PR -- 1992 Federal tax tables (as revised March 1, 1992); supports
tips, 401K plans, and cafeteria plans; skip prompts for unused deduction
fields, export employee and payroll check data to ASCII files

In addition, all programs provide the following new features:

~ A four-function pop-up calculator which can insert a result into a
numerical field

~ A new method of entering customer codes, vendor codes, and account
numbers listing possible matches as codes are entered

~ When customer codes, vendor codes, employee names, or account numbers
are changed, all historical data is also changed

~ PC-INV, an invoice writing program.  PC-INV works directly with PC-AR
data files to print customer invoices and post them on PC-AR

~ The ability to calculate sales tax on taxable items

~ Up to 50 lines for invoice detail

~ Up to 42 characters per line for descriptions, with @ symbol to
multiply item and automatically enter amount

~ The ability to print invoices as you enter them

~ The capability to print invoices on NEBBS form 9296, form 9292, or
plain paper, 11" or 7" format

NOTE: All programs are run in RAM; the numbers of supported accounts
quoted above are based on at least 512K RAM.  Less RAM will allow the
modules to run but will support a smaller number of accounts.
