Software Announcement - Retail Plus+ For Immediate Release Section : New Products Category: Business Software Advanced Retail Management On A Microcomputer Not very long ago sales and inventory control systems were the exclusive preserve of large retail organizations. They required big computers and a team of programmers to achieve three goals: effective inventory control, accurate sales tracking, and quick access to detailed information about every item in the store. Retail Plus+ is a new software package that also serves these goals. It is unique because it runs on a PC, was designed by shop owners, and you won't need your banker's approval to buy it. The system is built for ease-of-use, with pull-down menus and pop-up windows. At any point in the program you can press a Help key to get information about what is happening on the screen, and it maintains complete sales and inventory data for each item you carry. It can be used to manage multiple store locations and allows stock transfers from one location to another. Both weekly and monthly sales figures for each item are available at the touch of a key. Sales are entered by one of three methods: from the keyboard, by wire link to an electronic cash register, or by using the system's Point-of-Sale feature. The latter allows the computer screen and keyboard to be set up at the sales counter. In this mode the user can print either a sales slip or complete invoice statements for each transaction. This mode also allows two types of taxes and two types of surcharges to be added to any given sale. Several types of reports are included which analyze sales performance by product and product class. There are also reports for inventory auditing, overstocked items, and for the year-end closing. The system can print your product price list, price stickers, bar code labels, and a listing of all your suppliers with the items they ship to you. Any printer output can be re- directed to a file on your computer's disk drive, allowing you to edit and format reports with a word processor. One of the most time saving features of Retail Plus+ is it's ability to generate purchase orders. Order quantities can be based on sales history, re- order points or a "just-in-time inventory control" formula. Once a purchase order has been generated it can be reviewed, modified, and printed. The program can also produce catalogues of your product line for distribution to your customers. Each item in the inventory database includes a text area where the you can enter a product description. The catalogue output includes this description along with the stock number and price. This output can be sent either to the printer or to a disk file. With the latter option, a word processor or desk-top publishing program can be used to add professional looking layouts. Other features include data exporting to most database programs and spreadsheets, a backup and restore feature that makes backups easy, a customer database which is built into the point-of-sale setup, and a password protection system with three levels of access that can be turned on and off. Retail Plus+ is for store owners who want to reduce their sales-to-inventory ratio and who want timely information about each item they carry. It is also for those who spend too much time making up purchase orders, counting stock, tracking sales manually, or figuring out what sales strategy works and what doesn't. It is an organizer, a record-keeper, an analyzer and a time saver. Retail Plus+ runs on any IBM-PC, PS/2 or compatible which has 640KB of memory, a hard disk drive, and a dot matrix printer.
