UPDATE: Slide Manager v. 2.0 2/26/1991 The following improvements have been added to previous versions of this program: EDITING: The original program allowed editing of information being entered, but did not permit editing of slide information or history information once filing had taken place. Version 2.0 permits complete editing after recalling any filed slide, history or photofact. An additional option, , has been added to the option line after every RECALL operation; this invokes the edit function for the slide or history being viewed by recall. The edit of a slide allows change of the subject, media and date; changes of these items results in changes to the non-numeric parts of the slide number itself. Changes of other slide items do not affect the slide number. DELETE: In response to requests of some users, a utility program has been added to delete a slide (along with all related histories and photofacts, if any), and to delete a history. Deletion of a slide results in permanent loss of that particular slide number; it is not re-assigned to a slide added later. In spite of the requests to add this feature, I am not sure why anyone would want to use it, since every item of information on all of the layouts (slide, history and photofact) can be changed, it would seem the better practice to edit rather than delete. Even though a deleted slide cannot be edited or printed out after deletion, and cannot be recalled by any of its key-words or title or any other normal recall method, it, along with all other deleted slides, may be seen on the screen by recalling by the key- word *D* DITTO FEATURE: When several slides are being entered consecutively, it is often the case that the date, size, media, and/or subject are the same for each slide being entered. Hitting the quote key at any data entry blank will cause a repeat of the data entered on the previous slide for that item.
