Readme.txt __________ What you need: IBM (tm) compatable with HGA,CGA,EGA,or VGA color. You should have a '286 or better because the routines are very mathematically intensive. I have found that you can use an XT(tm) class machine if you have a co-processor. A '286-12 MHZ machine with a co-processor will calculate a page of planetary data in about 7 seconds. A '386-16 MHZ machine without a co-processor will do about the same. An XT-10MHZ without a coprocessor will ....come back tomorrow. However, with a coprocessor, it rivals the '286 with co-processor. If you do not have a coprocessor, consider seriously getting one. All of your graphics intensive programs will also benefit. You can usually purchase an ephemeris from bookstores for about $30 or so. The main problem with the standard books, however, is that they usually cover only the years 1900-2000 and they list planets for each day at a specified time ie. 12:00 noon GMT or EST. If the astrologer wishes to know the planetary positions at a specified time and place, he/she is out of luck and must interpolate and guess between dates listed in the book. Ephemeris II is much more powerful. The program can calculate the planetary positions to about 1 minute of arc back to 1 AD. Ephemeris II will allow you to get a reading of planetary positions on the spot as you ask for it. The registered version also calculates the aspects formed on the day, time and place chosen. This is an added plus that no ephemeris book can provide. Operation: The operation of this program is simplicity in itself. There are 3 options: 1. Calculates a page of planetary positions for a date chosen and the next 19 days at the same time of day. 2. Calculates a page of planetary positions for now (system date and time) and the next 19 days at the same time of day. 3. Calculates an aspect chart showing Trines, Sextiles, Squares, Oppositions, etc. for a user chosen date and time. The entry screens are self explanatory. The manual that comes with the registered version goes into some depth in astrological principals and interpretation. Acknowledgements: 1. Magee Enterprises.
