Norton Backup & Windows 3.1 Compatibility Tips

The Norton Backup for Windows 1.2 and the Norton Backup for DOS 2.0 are fully 
compatible with Microsoft Windows version 3.1.  However, you need to ensure 
that the built-in Windows 3.1 virtual DMA driver, VDMAD, is installed.  Simply 
edit the Windows SYSTEM.INI file and, in the 386 Enhanced section [386Enh], 
add the line device=*vdmad and remove the line device=vdmadx.386 and save the 
changes.  You must restart Windows for the changes to your SYSTEM.INI file to 
take effect.  If the correct device driver is not in place, the Norton Backup 
will run correctly, but not at the fastest possible speed.
