NORTON DESKTOP for DOS - FAXBACK INFORMATION #ND0005 Subject: EXTRACTING FILES FROM A ZIP To extract files from a ZIP, you first need to open a ZIP file window. With a mouse, just double click on the ZIP file in the drive window. For keyboard users, use the arrow keys to highlight the ZIP file in the drive window and press Enter. At this point you will see a compressed file window on your screen. A compressed file window looks (and acts) a lot like a drive window. To copy files out of the ZIP, mouse users can drag and drop. Keyboard users can use File Copy (Alt+F, C) just like in a drive window. File selection in a compressed window works like a drive window. There are a few differences between Compressed File windows and Drive Windows. You cannot view or edit a file from within a Compressed File window. You also cannot open a Compressed File window over Desktop Link or Network Link. Norton Application Note Rev. 6/92 #4108 Page 1 of 1
