Using SQZ! Under Microsoft Windows 3.x Lotus 1-2-3 for Windows Currently, SQZ! is not compatible with Lotus 1-2-3 for Windows. Although SQZ! does not support 1-2-3 for Windows, please feel free to inform SQZ! Technical Support of your interest. In the event that Symantec expands SQZ!'s compatibility to the Windows platform, it would be a priority to contact first those users who have expressed their interest to us. If you would like to use squeezed spreadsheets in Lotus 1-2-3 for Windows, you must unsqueeze the spreadsheets before retrieving them in 1-2-3 for Windows. Unsqueezing can be accomplished easily by using the UNSQZ! utility, shipped with SQZ! 2.0. Lotus 1-2-3 for DOS SQZ! can be used with any release of Lotus 1-2-3 for DOS that will run as a DOS application under Microsoft Windows 3.x. Windows uses files called PIFs to start up programs within its environment. By following the two steps below, you can ensure that SQZ! will function correctly when being used in Microsoft Windows. In your Lotus 1-2-3 PIF file, make sure that the Start-up Directory entry displays the location of 1-2-3's subdirectory. For instance, if 1-2-3 is loaded in C:\123, make sure that your Lotus 1-2-3 PIF file's Start-up Directory reads C:\123. Also in your Lotus 1-2-3 PIF file, make sure that the Program Filename entry displays the location of 1-2-3's subdirectory followed by 123.COM or 123.EXE (depending on your release of 1-2-3). For instance, if 1-2-3 is loaded in C:\123, make sure that your Lotus 1-2-3 PIF file's Program Filename reads C:\123\123.COM or C:\123\123.EXE. If you have any further questions, please contact SQZ!
