Problems Loading The SQZV2V3.PLC Add-In In Lotus 1-2-3 Release 3.1x To retrieve Lotus 1-2-3 Release 2.x squeezed files (.WK!) in Lotus 1-2-3 Release 3.1x, you must first use the SQZV2V3 translation utilities. This is a two-step process: the first step is executed at a DOS prompt with SQZV2V3.EXE, and the second step is executed in Lotus 1-2-3 3.1x with the SQZV2V3.PLC Add-In. If you are using SQZ! for Lotus 1-2-3 3.1x and get an error message (i.e. "Could not find/load ") while trying to load the SQZV2V3.PLC Add-In, there are a few things that could be wrong. -The Add-In Support files could be missing from your Lotus 1-2-3 subdirectory. Lotus 1-2-3 3.1x does not install them for you automatically. -The Add-In Support files in your Lotus 1-2-3 subdirectory could be the incorrect version. Lotus Development Corporation updated the Add-In Support files and you need an updated version of the files to run the second half of the conversion process. To determine where the problem lies, follow these steps... 1. Quit Lotus 1-2-3 and navigate in DOS to your 1-2-3 3.1x subdirectory. Check for your Add-In Support files by typing DIR LL*.*. Nineteen files should be listed. Check the file dates. If the files are dated 12/17/90 or later, they are the correct files Ä skip to step 2. If the files are dated before 12/17/90 or no files are found, you must update your Add-In Support files to those dated 12/17/90 or later. If someone else in your office has a later version of Lotus 1-2-3 3.1x, check their Add-In Support files. If their Add-In Support files are dated 12/17/90 or later, borrow their Add-In Support Disk and install their Add-Support files on your computer. If you do not have access to an Add-In Support Disk with Add-In Support files dated 12/17/90 or later, you can obtain one from Lotus Development Corporation or download the file R31ADN.EXE from the Lotus forum on Compuserve. Once you have an Add-In Support Disk with Add-In Support files dated 12/17/90 or later, you can install the new Add-In Support files in DOS by navigating to the Add-In Support Disk's prompt, typing LINSTALL, and following the on-screen instructions. 2. The SQZV2V3.PLC Add-In requires the use of many Lotus 1-2-3 3.1x Add-In library files, and therefore takes up a lot of memory. Accordingly, the SQZV2V3.PLC Add-In should only be loaded when conversion from .WK! files to .W3! files is necessary. In addition, while using the SQZV2V3.PLC Add-In, you should remove all other add-ins except SQZ.PLC and SQZV2V3.PLC. Temporarily removing WYSIWYG is also suggested. SQZ!
